When 73-year-old Carol Flynn from Sioux Falls in the US decided to perform an amazing act of kindness for one young mum, she had no idea she was about to become famous.
Unknown to the woman, this lovely gesture was being recorded by Jason Yoshino, who later uploaded the video to his Facebook page where it has since gone viral.
A young mum, Katie Kanefke, was attempting to return three boxes of nappies at the checkout as the store didn’t match a competitor’s price; Carol stepped in and offered to pay for the whole lot.
Carol has since said the decision was an easy one: “I thought, ‘If she needs diapers, she must have a little one.’ Little ones are close to your heart when you’re a grandmother.”
Needless to say the mum was overwhelmed with the grandmother’s kindness, telling local newspaper, Argus Leader: “I couldn’t believe it. I was shocked. I kept saying thank you and God bless you. Then I walked out in the parking lot and started crying. It just hit me. It was an awesome statement of what God’s love does.”
What a lovely gesture.
