With the skies already dark when we leave work and a hot water bottle glued to our sides throughout the night, it is time to face the fact that winter is here.
And while we we're glad to be back in our cosy jumpers, the colder months can be not-so-kind to our skin.
It is important we prepare our skin for the drop in temperature to ensure it stays bright and glowing.
Here are five things you should be doing during the cooler months:
1. Moisturise
As the central heating comes on, the constant moving from cold to warm temperatures can really dry out your skin making it important to moisturise.
2. Drink more water
Make sure you drink plenty of water to keep your skin looking and feeling great - this will also help to protect it from the winter elements.
3. Increase your fruit and veg intake
Make sure you are getting enough vitamins and minerals by upping your fruit and vegetable intake so eat plenty of leafy greens, carrots, apples and healthy fats.
4. Exfoliate
Prevent dry skin and blemishes by exfoliating your face and body at least once a week. This will help you avoid the dreaded lacklustre complexion and ensure it stays healthy.
5. Go for a richer cream
Lotions and light moisturisers are great for the summer but come winter you need something a little heavier to keep your skin protected.
