Fudge chocolate brownie bars

A rich chocolate treat the whole family will adore.

375g butter

375g 70% dark chocolate

225g plain flour

1 tsp salt

6 eggs

1 tsp vanilla essence

500g caster sugar

Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F / Gas mark 4.

Lightly grease or line a baking tray and set aside.

Place butter and chocolate in a heat resistant bowl in the microwave.

Melt for 1 or 2 minutes, until melted.

Mix together flour and salt.

Beat the eggs and vanilla together in a bowl, then add the sugar.

Add the chocolate mixture to the rest of the ingredients.

Pour everything into the prepared baking tray.

Bake for 40 minutes then allow to cool for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
