Fans of his will know that Matthew McConaughey is not only an acclaimed actor but also a proud family man, and his latest announcement is very touching indeed.
The Oscar-winner took to social media this week to celebrate wife Camila Alves’ big news – she is now officially a US citizen.
Posting a beautiful photo of the couple with their three young children, the 45-year-old tweeted: “Congratulations Camila on getting your U.S citizenship today – another fellow and great American.”
Camila took to her own social media channels to mark the momentous occasion, tweeting: “Happy to say I now hold an American passport! I have so much respect and appreciation for this country.”

Now 33, Camila previously shared the story of how she first came to America from Brazil, during an interview on American chat show The View.
Camila - who is mum to sons Levi and Livingston, and daughter Vida with Matthew – moved to the US at the tender age of 19, and has gone on to have an incredibly successful career as a model.
