Periorbital Cellulitis is most common in children and is an infection of the skin caused by a bacterial infection. The most common bacteria that cause infection are staphylococcus and streptococcus. It often occurs when bacteria are introduced into the eyelid by a scratch, an insect bite, a stye, or a chalazion. These types of trauma and infection increase the risk factors of Periorbital Cellulitis.
