Remember the Success Kid meme that once upon a time was everywhere? The one that showed an adorable tot with a mouthful and fistful of sand, and a fierce look in his eyes that said, “I can do anything!”
Well the little tot, named Sammy Griner, is not so little anymore – nine years later he’s almost grown-up, but still as cute as ever!
His mum posted the photo on Reddit to celebrate Sammy’s dad’s successful kidney transplant. While initially she was uneasy about using the meme to raise money to help her husband obtain a new kidney, she changed her mind when he had to undergo six years of dialysis treatment. They managed to raise a whopping $100,000 and thankfully he is now doing well.
So it seems Success Kid has lived up to his name!
